This Policy explains when and how you can get a refund for a Saytype subscription, your EU/UK withdrawal right, and how to make a request. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

1. Subscriptions at a Glance

2. EU / UK Consumers — 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

2.1 If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, EEA, or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your subscription purchase within 14 days of the purchase (or renewal you wish to withdraw from, where applicable), without giving any reason.

2.2 To withdraw, send us a clear statement (e.g., email to support@saytype.dev saying "I withdraw from my Saytype subscription purchased on [date], order [reference]") before the 14-day period expires. A model withdrawal form is available in Annex I of EU Directive 2011/83/EU; you do not have to use it.

2.3 Effect of withdrawal. We will refund the purchase price within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, using the same payment method you used (unless you expressly agree otherwise; no fee is charged for the refund). Because the Service is performed during the withdrawal period, if you requested performance to begin immediately, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the dictation time actually used up to the moment you withdraw (Art. 14(4)(b), Directive 2011/83/EU). If you have not used the Service, the refund is in full.

2.4 Nothing in this Policy limits any other mandatory consumer right you have under the law of your country of residence.

3. Refunds Outside the EU/UK Statutory Right — Usage Threshold

For customers not covered by Section 2 (e.g., United States, and other regions), we apply the following goodwill policy:

3.1 Request within 7 days of purchase and usage at or below the threshold → full refund. The threshold is 10% of the purchased plan's included dictation time (for example, 2.5 hours for the 25-hour plan, or 10 hours for a 100-hour plan where offered).

3.2 Usage above the threshold → no refund. Once you have used more than the threshold, the subscription fee is non-refundable, and the subscription remains active until the end of the paid billing cycle.

3.3 Service failures. If the Service is materially unavailable or defective due to our fault and we cannot restore it within a reasonable time, we will refund or re-credit the affected amount regardless of Sections 2–3.

3.4 Promotional credits, free allowance, coupons, and referral rewards have no cash value and are not refundable or transferable, except where required by law.

4. How to Request a Refund

4.1 Email support@saytype.dev from the email address on your account, including:

4.2 We will confirm receipt and process eligible refunds within 3 to 5 business days. The refund is issued to the original payment method (PayPal). Depending on your bank or PayPal, it may take an additional 3–10 business days to appear.

4.3 Where a refund is due to an EU/UK withdrawal, the 14-day statutory deadline in Section 2.3 applies instead of any internal processing target.

5. Cancellation (stopping future renewals)

5.1 Cancellation is separate from a refund: cancelling stops future renewals but does not by itself trigger a refund of the current cycle (refunds follow Sections 2–3).

5.2 Cancel at any time via your account page (web) or by emailing support@saytype.dev. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — you keep access to your remaining paid allowance until then.

5.3 After cancellation, your unused allowance for that cycle expires at the end of the cycle and does not roll over, except where we state otherwise.

6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

6.1 If you have a billing problem (duplicate charge, unrecognized amount, failed refund), contact us first at support@saytype.dev — most issues can be resolved faster than through a bank dispute.

6.2 Filing a chargeback does not replace the refund process above, and we may suspend the associated account while a dispute is pending, to prevent abuse.

6.3 Initiating a chargeback after receiving a refund for the same transaction, or using chargebacks fraudulently, violates the Terms of Service (Acceptable Use) and may result in account termination, revocation of benefits, and recovery of the disputed amounts as permitted by law.

7. Regional Notes

7.1 United States (auto-renewal laws). Where required by state automatic-renewal laws (e.g., California ARL), renewal terms are disclosed at checkout, a renewal reminder is sent before charging, and cancellation is available online or via the contact above; refunds above apply per Sections 3–4. Some states provide additional cancellation/refund rights — nothing here limits them.

7.2 Republic of Korea. Korean consumers are governed by the Korean-language terms and the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (separate policy); this English Policy is for the Saytype Global edition.

7.3 If this Policy conflicts with mandatory local consumer law, local law prevails for residents of that jurisdiction.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy (e.g., price, threshold, or process changes) with advance notice where required. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs your refund rights.
